In times of pain, sickness, or stress, many Mahayana Buddhists rely on sacred Medicine Buddha meditation for healing. Although meditation is not a replacement for professional medical help, it certainly helps to reinforce with the healing energy of Medicine Budhda, Lord of Healing.
Although there are other healing mediations, why do most people turn to the Great Lapis Lazuli Light Medicine Buddha, Bhaisajyaguru? This is because of the Sacred Sutra Vow of Medicine Buddha:
“I vow that all beings who are physically disabled or sick in all aspects be blessed with good health, both physically and mentally. All who pay homage to Buddha faithfully will be blessed.”
