What Buddhist practices are helpful for healing agressive diseases such as cancer or any illness? Which practices help avert damage from radiation, pollution, and even curses or negative intentions from others? Which practices are helpful for cognitive decline or memory issues, or simply to increase wisdom?

In this video, Venerable Zasep Rinpoche answers these questions from a student at an event at Gaden Choling in Toronto. He recommended Black Manjushri for these agressive dangers, and explained how we can help not only ourselves but others through this practice.

HEALTH NOTE: Health visualizations and mantras are NOT a replacement for good health care, advice of your medical professional and vaccines. Venerable Zasep Rinpoche always guides and teaches common sense with a “see your doctor first” message. Healing visualizations and mantras are supplemental.

PRACTICE NOTE: Rinpoche advises that this practice can be visualized and the mantra chanted by both initiated and uninitiated. He describes the visualization for both (see time codes below.) You visualize the Three Fierce Ones in FRONT of you if you do not have initiation.

We end this video presentation with Venerable Zasep Rinpocheโ€™s previously live-streamed transmission of the mantra for Black Manjushri. He very kindly verbally transmits 21 times. Rinpoche advises that these practices are effective for those with faith and bodhichitta, but as support to qualified medical and health care. May all beings benefit.

Mantra – You Should Recite along with Rinpoche at least 21 Times: OM TRA Sร– CHU Sร– TUR TA Sร– TUR MI Sร– NYING GO LA CHร– KHA LA JAH KAM SHAM TRAM Bร„ PHAT SVAHA

Venerable Zasep Rinpoche’s Advice for healing, we are talking about physical health problem, like cancer.

โ€œBlack Manjushri practice is very powerful.รง I have given Black Manjushri initiation for lots of people the last couple of years.

I have students or friends who had cancer, breast cancer, prostrate cancer, stomach cancer, and other types of cancer. They have been doing their practice. They also went through chemo therapy. It has been very beneficial.

A number of my friends and students who had cancer, their cancer is gone, and no longer detectable. They are clear. And they appreciate it.

So, you can do Black Manjushri practice again, same way you do Medicine Buddha. You donโ€™t have initiation? You can still do the mantra, and visualize Black Manjushri above your crown. If you have the initiation that will be better. If you donโ€™t have initiation, I could suggest the persona who is suffering and dealing with the cancer go and receive theย  initiation of Medicine buddhaand Black Manjushri initiation. Black Manjushri practice is also very helpful for sickness caused by chemicals, pollution, toxins, poisoned water and food โ€” like whatโ€™s happening today in the world. People are exposed to radiation, chemicals, or whatever. Also, people who are suffering from fear and paranoia. Or, if someone is attacking them mentally, like a curse, or your own mind. Fear. So, Black Manjushri practice is very powerful.โ€

Also, we can do these healing practices, Medicine Buddha and Black Manjushri, for others, who donโ€™t have initiation, or canโ€™t do the practice or visualization because they are too weak or they are not sure, they have no confidence to do the practice. But, they are willing to accept our help, then of course we should help.โ€

Venerable Zasep Rinpoche recommends visualizing blue light emanating from Black Manjushriโ€™s heart and entering your body, filling you with healing light.

He indicated you do not have to have initiation to chant the mantra, as long as you visualize Black Manjushri in front of you.

He transmitted the Mantra 21 Times in a separate live streamed event, which we’ve included here. Follow and chant along with Rinpoche and receive the blessings of this powerful healing practice.
