Tara Windhorse Practice is one of the most popular practices in Vajrayana and Mahayana. Windhorse refers to Prana, or Chi, which is Buddha Mother Tara’s domain. This praise is often recited or sung at the end of the recitation of the praise of 21 Taras(We have a song version of this on our channel @3GemsBand )
Original beautiful Buddhist Song “Wish-Fulfilling Windhorse Tara” with vocals by @3GemsBand with Sanskrit 10-syllable Tara Mantra verses. Lyrics and song by Kongchok Namkha, adapted from the Tara Windhorse Prayer of Trulshik Adeu Rinpoche, available on most streaming services.
Windhorse praise and mantras request Tara to help us with activities of health, protection, prosperity, removal of all obstacles and enemies for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Each of the five colors of Tara are requested. First Green Tara for protection and activity, then white Tara for removal of obstacles, followed by yellow for enriching of health and wealth, red for power to magnetize fortunate circumstances and blue for heroic protection from harm.
Trulshik Adeu Rinpoche explains the benefits of this praise recited with Tara practice:
This windhorse practice, relying upon Noble Lady Tārā, is a prayer that fulfils all wishes.
Lyrics by Kongchok Namkha and @3GemsBand, adapted from the Windhorse Tara Praise of Trulshik Adeu Rinpoche
Oṃ Queen of space, savior of all beings
The perfect essence of magical wind
You give birth to all worlds, mother of life
Arya Tārā I pay homage to you!
Arya Tārā I take refuge in you!
Arya Tārā I take refuge in you!
oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā
Tārā whose face gleams as white as the moon
By pacifying all adversity
Wind of life fulfilling all our wishes
Create the wind horse to remove danger
oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā
Tārā who shines as brightly as the sun
Remove poverty, bring prosperity
Increase lifespan merit wealth and renown
Create the wind horse of our health and wealth
oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā
Tārā who blazes like shining rubies
By dispelling all ills and misfortune
And bringing the whole under control
Create the wind horse of magnetizing
oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā
Tārā who sparkles with blue sapphire light
By defeating all enemies and harm
Granting victory over all dangers
Create the wind horse of power and might
oṃ tāre tuttāre ture svāhā
