I take Refuge in Conqueror Buddha

I take Refuge in Conqueror Dharma

I take Refuge in Conquering Sangha

I praise the 12 Deeds of Shakyamuni

I praise the 12 Deeds of Shakyamuni

I praise the 12 Deeds of Shakyamuni

When you were born chief of human beings

You took seven steps on this earth’s blossoms

And said In this world I am the supreme

To you enlightened one I pay homage.

Om muni muni mahamuni shakya muni svaha

First you came down from Tushita heaven

In royal home, entered your mother’s womb

In Lumbini grove O Sage you were born

To you Enlightened One I pay homage.

Om muni muni mahamuni shakya muni svaha

Raised as a child in a remote palace

Athlete and champion in house Shakya

Became husband and father in your youth

To you Enlightened One I pay homage.

Om muni muni mahamuni shakya muni svaha

Restless of luxury you ventured forth

Saw four sites, the four kinds of suffering

Witnessed childbirth illness old age and death

To you enlightened one I pay homage.

Om muni muni mahamuni shakya muni svaha

You renounced suffering cutting your hair

On the river bank became ascetic

    Freeing yourself of all obscurations

To you enlightened one I pay homage.

Om muni muni mahamuni shakya muni svaha

    At Rajagriha tamed an elephant

In Vaishali monkeys gave you honey

    In Magadha you realized Buddhahood

To you enlightened one I pay homage.

Om muni muni mahamuni shakya muni svaha

Through praising the deeds of Shakyamuni

The deeds of the Master of the Teaching

    May all beings attain enlightenment

To you enlightened one I pay homage.

Om muni muni mahamuni shakya muni svaha
