H.E. Zasep Tulku Rinpoche will offer Hayagriva Sangdrup empowerment to qualified students. (For information on Venerable Zasep Rinpoche, see below.)

Hayagriva Is an extremely wrathful emanation of the Buddhas of Compassion and Infinite Light – Chenrezig and Amitabha. His practice was brought to Tibet by Second Buddha, Guru Rinpoche.

He is one of the powerful Buddhist Deities for Purification and Healing and is the wrathful emanation of the Buddha of Compassion. Hayagriva is most efficacious in healing emotional, psychological, psychic and spiritual illnesses, obstructions and obstacles.

“Secret” Hayagriva is the manifestation of this Deity most popular in the Gelug Tradition and is associated with Sera Monastery.

Hayagriva is a wrathful aspect of Chenresig. Making prayers to Hayagriva is a swift and powerful means to overcome negative forces and obstacles including those caused by spirit harms. Prayers to the deity are especially beneficial in these degenerate times when sufferings and illnesses are rampant due to the strong delusions of sentient beings. As a manifestation of Chenresig, the practice of Hayagriva also helps to develop compassion.

  • Hayagriva is the wrathful emanation of the Buddha of Compassion Amitabha and Chenrezig. There are different Hayagriva versions. Sang Drup is a very special practice.  For a feature on Hayagriva, please see>>
  • Empowerment to a wrathful yidam is a serious commitment. If you are ready, you will know. For a story on Wrathful deities, see>>
  • NOTE: This practice is normally for senior students. Practice and guru commitments as a Higher Yoga Practice. (See Details.) If in doubt about whether to take this empowerment, contact the organizers at the email below.
